Moldova Ministry of Culture spends 9.8 million lei on Independence Day

The Moldovan Ministry of Culture has spent over 9.8 million lei to organize celebrations for the 35th anniversary of Independence Day, despite previous indications of budget tightening.

Reports indicate that nearly 6 million lei were spent solely on technical services. These acquisitions were conducted through direct negotiation without a prior public tender announcement. Although the deadline for submitting offers was set for August 22, work at the Great National Assembly Square was already underway by August 21, with the stage being installed by the company Media Show Grup.

The procurement plan for 2026, originally approved by former Minister of Culture Cristian Jardan, initially allocated only 500,000 lei for Independence Day activities. However, the Ministry modified the plan on July 30, increasing the amount to 10 million lei. Additionally, 150,000 lei were contracted to BR FILMS SRL, a company owned by Roman Burlaca, for video production services, also through direct negotiation without a public tender.
