Moldova offers 3,000 lei monthly wage supplement to first‑time workers in strategic sectors

Moldova’s Ministry of Labour and Social Protection announced a programme that gives eligible young people a non‑taxable monthly supplement of 3,000 lei for the first twelve months of employment. The benefit, described by Minister Natalia Plugaru, targets workers up to age 35 who take their first job in one of seven priority sectors – electronics, vehicle manufacturing, textiles, agro‑food, pharmaceuticals, construction‑materials and creative industries.

Applicants must use the EVO mobile application, select the “First‑job aid” under Benefits, and can shift to a different employer once within the same sector without losing the entitlement. The supplement continues during paid leave, medical or paternity leave. More than 1,200 youths have already received the payment. The government says the measure aims to keep young talent in the country and support economic growth, alongside broader labour‑market goals for 2026.
