Moldova plans significant labor tax reductions, says Vasile Tofan

Prime Minister Vasile Tofan has announced that the Moldovan government intends to implement a more significant reduction in labor taxes during upcoming stages of fiscal reform. Speaking at the third edition of the Pro Industrie Dialogue in Chișinău, Tofan addressed approximately 350 company representatives, public authorities, and development partners.

Tofan reported that industrial production grew by approximately 8% in the first half of the year, while exports increased by about 12% during the first seven months. He emphasized that sustaining this growth requires accelerating investments, technological advancement, and diversifying markets to reduce vulnerability to external shocks.

The Prime Minister stated that current measures are only an initial step, with the government aiming to further reduce the fiscal burden on labor to improve competitiveness and simplify operations for entrepreneurs.
