Moldova proposes military training for men not currently in service

The Moldovan Ministry of Defense is developing a draft law that could require men who have not previously undergone military service to complete basic training courses. The proposed training would last a maximum of 42 days, structured in multiple stages to allow participants to continue their professional activities or studies without prolonged absences.

Defense Minister Anatolie Nosatîi clarified that the initiative does not involve a simultaneous call-up of all men aged 18 to 60. Instead, the implementation will be gradual, depending on financial resources and the National Army's organizational capacity. The Ministry intends to allocate specific funds for this program in the 2027 budget.

The draft law is currently in the review stage and will proceed to the Government and subsequently to Parliament for two readings after receiving necessary ministerial approvals.
