Moldova records 100 airspace violations since 2022
The number of airspace violations in Moldova has reached 100 since 2022. According to the Ministry of Defense, more than 60% of these incidents occurred in 2026 alone.
Between October 10 and October 16, 2026, the National Army's Air Operations Center recorded seven specific incidents. These included the discovery of drone fragments containing explosives in Geamăna, Anenii Noi district, on October 10. The remaining six incidents involved unauthorized overflights by military aircraft, occurring in locations such as Purcari, Ivanovca, Tudora, and the Otaci—Hădărăuți direction.
The Ministry of Defense noted that these violations are occurring against the backdrop of Russian Federation attacks on Ukraine. Authorities have warned the public that the presence of drones, missiles, or debris poses security risks and urged citizens not to approach such objects, instead reporting them immediately via emergency services.
