Moldova to fund energy compensation via state budget

Moldova will continue its energy compensation program during the upcoming cold season, with funding provided directly from the state budget. Finance Minister Victoria Belous confirmed that while previous support was facilitated by European Union funds, this year the financial assistance will be allocated from national resources.

The program aims to prioritize highly vulnerable citizens. To determine eligibility, authorities will use multiple criteria beyond official declared income, including bank interest, estimated available funds, and property ownership. The Ministry of Labor and Social Protection is responsible for examining and defining the specific categories of beneficiaries to ensure aid reaches those in genuine need.
