Moldova to implement electronic gradebooks in all schools by 2026

The Ministry of Education and Research of Moldova has announced that the Electronic Catalog Information System (SICE) will be implemented in all schools across the country by the 2026-2027 academic year. During the current academic year, the transition to the digital platform will continue, building on the previous year when approximately 60% of general education institutions (716 schools) were already using the system.

SICE allows teachers to record grades and student absences, while providing parents and students with access to lesson schedules and other relevant educational information. To support this rollout, the Ministry will organize training sessions for teaching staff from approximately 400 institutions that are implementing the system for the first time. These sessions will cover managing student evaluations, grades, absences, and homework.

To facilitate the national implementation, the Ministry is also working to strengthen digital infrastructure. This includes plans to expand local networks and improve internet access in 292 educational institutions. The initiative aims to simplify administrative processes, reduce paper usage, and provide faster access to educational data for all stakeholders.
