Moldova to reorganize Professional School no. 11 into social services center
The Moldovan government has approved the reorganization of Professional School no. 11 into a multifunctional social services center for persons with disabilities. This new institution will operate under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection and is expected to become functional by July 1, 2027, serving approximately 70 beneficiaries.
Under this plan, students with special educational needs (SEN) or disabilities who wish to learn a trade will be integrated into various technical vocational education and training institutions. These institutions will undergo adaptations to their infrastructure, acquire assistive technologies, and prepare teaching staff to meet the specific needs of these students.
Minister of Education and Research Dan Perciun stated that the decision aims to clearly separate two types of support: quality vocational studies for those capable of learning a trade and specialized social services for those in need of dedicated care. The 117 students currently enrolled at Professional School no. 11 will be permitted to complete their studies there by the end of June 2027.
