Starokazacie border crossing hit by drone attack, killing two

A Russian drone attack on the Starokazacie border crossing, located near the Moldova-Ukraine border, resulted in the deaths of two civilians and left several others injured during the night of September 8-9. The strike damaged infrastructure on the Ukrainian side of the crossing, leading to the temporary suspension of operations at the Tudora-Starokazacie checkpoint.

The Moldovan Ministry of Foreign Affairs rejected Russian claims that the crossing was being used to transport military cargo to Ukraine, labeling the allegations as false and unfounded. Authorities noted that the crossing is primarily used by civilians, including families and the elderly.

In a broader context of aerial warfare, the Ukrainian Air Force reported that Russia launched 196 drones during overnight attacks. Additionally, a separate Russian strike on a shopping center in Pavlohrad, Ukraine, caused at least three deaths and over 30 injuries.
