Moldova university admissions see increased candidate numbers
University admission results for 2026 in the Republic of Moldova have been announced, showing an increase in interest with approximately 22,000 candidates applying for higher education places.
At the "Ion Creangă" State Pedagogical University, high demand was noted in psychology, speech therapy, arts, and foreign languages. Officials attributed the rising interest to government educational policies, including increased scholarships and improved dormitory conditions.
The "Nicolae Testemițanu" State University of Medicine and Pharmacy also reported significant activity. Over 1,300 candidates were admitted in the current stage, with 500 securing state-funded spots and 834 admitted via contract. Tuition fees vary by specialty; dentistry is the most expensive at 70,000 lei per year, while general medicine costs 35,000 lei annually.
