Moldova higher education admissions 2026–27

Overview

Following the release of interim results on 8 August, the Ministry of Education and Research reported that 18,259 students were enrolled during the 2026 primary admission session, a nearly 16% increase compared to 2025. Of these, 14,195 were in undergraduate and integrated programs, while 4,064 were in master's programs. The most sought-after fields included economic sciences, law, educational sciences, information technology, and engineering.

By late August, following the completion of the first two admission rounds, total enrollment rose to more than 22,200 students. This represents an increase of over 1,150 students, or 5.2%, compared to the same stage in the previous year. Enrollment in bachelor's and integrated programs reached 16,924 (up 5.9%), while master's degree enrollment reached 5,276.

Regarding state-funded positions, 4,528 students enrolled in bachelor's/integrated programs and 2,478 in master's programs, covering approximately 84% of the state order for bachelor's programs and 89% for master's programs. Significant enrollment figures were reported at Moldova State University (4,462 students), the Technical University of Moldova (3,899 students), and the Academy of Economic Studies of Moldova (2,254 students). Other institutions reporting growth include the “Nicolae Testemițanu” State University of Medicine and Pharmacy and the Ion Creangă State Pedagogical University.

Admission processes are scheduled to continue from 1 September to 30 September for remaining candidates.
