Moldova anti-corruption agency probes former deputy Trubca and AIPA director Eremia
The National Integrity Authority (ANI) opened a wealth‑control investigation into former PAS deputy Alexandr Trubca after inspectors found indications of undeclared assets and foreign investments. The probe, initiated on 5 August, will verify whether Trubca’s declared income matches the acquisitions of property, funds abroad and capital increases recorded while he was a parliamentarian.
Separately, the National Anticorruption Center (CNA) and the Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office detained Ștefan Eremia, head of the Advance Payments Department at the Agency for Intervention and Payments for Agriculture (AIPA). Prosecutors allege Eremia demanded and received 130 000 lei from a business representative in exchange for influencing a subsidy decision. Searches uncovered cash totaling 2.5 million lei, and the suspect was held for 72 hours pending further investigation.
