Constanța police seize over 3 kg cannabis and other drugs in major bust

Romanian prosecutors and the Constanța Organized Crime Brigade arrested two men, aged 22 and 26, on 18‑19 June 2026 on suspicion of high‑risk drug trafficking. The investigation revealed that the 22‑year‑old operated a “dead‑drop” network in Constanța, distributing cannabis, 3‑CMC, ecstasy, cocaine and hallucinogenic mushrooms.

Searches at his residence uncovered approximately 2.7 kg of cannabis, 375 g of cannabis resin, 221 ecstasy tablets, 120 g of cocaine, 50 g of mushrooms, 50 g of crystalline 3‑CMC and related equipment. Earlier in April, authorities had seized 415 g of cannabis and 25 g of 3‑CMC linked to the same operation. Both suspects were placed in preventive detention for 30 days pending a judge’s decision, with the operation supported by the mobile gendarmerie unit.

The case is being handled by DIICOT’s Constanța territorial office and the local drug‑trafficking combat unit, emphasizing the authorities’ coordinated effort against organized drug networks in the region.
