Moldovan Deputy Alexandr Trubca Resigns Amid Real Estate Scandal

On July 10, 2026, Alexandr Trubca, a deputy for the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) in Moldova, submitted his resignation. He said the decision was driven by moral and ethical considerations, aiming to protect the party’s image and credibility amid growing scrutiny of his business activities.

Trubca is linked to a real‑estate development in Trușeni, where his company – established in 2024 as a consulting firm but used for the investment – helped purchase an 80‑are plot for €800,000. The project is being built by Estate Invest Company, which is also involved in a separate high‑rise construction on Bucovina Street in Chișinău. That project’s building permits were suspended in December 2025 after the National Technical Supervision Inspectorate found major violations of zoning and height limits, though construction continued pending court rulings.

An investigation by RISE Moldova and a pending review by the National Agency for Integrity (ANI) have kept the scandal in the public eye. Trubca maintains he will remain a party member and continue supporting Moldova’s European integration agenda while awaiting the outcome of the integrity probe.
