Moldovan historical flag collection exhibited at Customs Service Museum

A unique collection of replicas of historical Moldovan flags is currently housed at the Customs Service Museum within a gallery belonging to Petru Costin. The collection includes 45 standards that faithfully respect historical models, ranging from the era of Stefan the Great to the flags of the Moldavian Democratic Republic of 1917–1918.

Some pieces were reconstructed using unprecedented sources. This includes a cavalry standard from the era of Stefan the Great, which was reconstructed by Costin and historian Vitalie Ciobanu based on a historical drawing. This specific work has since been included in the Encyclopedia of the Republic of Moldova.

The collection is itinerant and has been exhibited at various locations, including the National Museum of History of Moldova and the Parliament of Romania. Additionally, certain standards have been used to open military parades in the Great National Assembly Square during various anniversaries.
