Moldovan leaders condemn Russian attack on Kyiv’s UNESCO‑listed Lavra Pechersk

The Romanian Patriarchate expressed deep concern and sadness over a Russian strike that hit the Lavra Pechersk in Kyiv, a major Orthodox spiritual centre and UNESCO World Heritage site.

Igor Grosu, President of Moldova’s Parliament, condemned the attack as "barbaric," noting images of the cathedral’s burning roof and reaffirming Moldova’s support for Ukraine. Both statements underline regional disapproval of the assault that damaged a culturally significant monument in the Ukrainian capital.
