Moldovan teachers to receive up to 30% salary boost from October, says Education Minister Dan Perciun

Education Minister Dan Perciun announced that Moldovan teachers will feel a salary increase beginning in October. The government plans to adopt the new fiscal‑budget policy and salary law between August and September, after which September salaries will be paid in October with the first raised amounts.

The raise will vary from 10% to 15% depending on teaching rank and will be calculated on the total current income, including existing allowances. For some staff, an additional performance bonus of up to 15% could push the total increase to as much as 30%.

Perciun also assured that the state will continue to allocate extra budget funds to schools if utility costs rise, citing past interventions to offset higher natural‑gas tariffs. The Ministry indicated readiness to support schools financially for any future price hikes.
