Moldova university admissions see 16% increase in enrollment

University admissions in the Republic of Moldova have seen a significant increase, with over 18,000 students enrolled following the primary session of the 2026 admissions cycle. This represents a 16% growth compared to the previous year, with 18,259 candidates enrolled in undergraduate, integrated, and master's programs.

Most requested fields of study included economic sciences, law, educational sciences, information technology, and engineering. Approximately 80% of state-funded places have been occupied, with 6,444 students admitted to budget-funded positions.

Admissions are currently in a second round, allowing candidates who missed the initial session or were not placed in their preferred programs to apply until August 17. Budget-funded spots remain available in various sectors, including engineering, architecture, agricultural sciences, and natural sciences, across several institutions such as the Moldova State University and the Technical University of Moldova.
