Moldova's Education Ministry unveils 'Independence that Unites' first lesson

The Ministry of Education and Research of the Republic of Moldova announced that the first lesson of the 2026‑2027 school year will carry the theme “Independence that Unites.” The lesson will be held in all public and private schools nationwide as part of the Decade of National Values.

To help teachers prepare, the ministry will run a series of online methodological workshops from 17 – 28 August 2026, presenting newly created teaching resources and practical guidance. State Secretary Valentina Olaru urged educators to participate and use the materials so the lesson reinforces understanding of Moldova’s independence, freedom, democracy and human rights across generations.
