Moldova's Energocom Secures Gas Supplies for 2026‑27 Winter Season
Moldovan gas supplier Energocom has launched a series of nine procurement rounds to acquire natural gas for the 2026‑27 gas year, targeting the winter heating period. The company put up two quarterly lots for Q4 2026 (up to 276,000 MWh) and three quarterly lots for Q1 2027 (up to 270,000 MWh), as well as monthly lots covering November 2026 to February 2027. All contracts are forward deals priced against the European TTF Front Month index and are conducted under the procurement framework approved by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
In parallel, Energocom has asked the National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) to raise the regulated household gas tariff from 13.35 lei/m³ to 19.37 lei/m³ (without VAT). ANRE has drafted a new rate of 18.80 lei/m³ (about 20.30 lei/m³ with VAT) pending approval. The procurement process will continue until the end of October, after which the final contracted volumes will be disclosed.
