Molfetta boutique robbery leads mayor to call for tighter security
On the night of 12‑13 June, three masked thieves forced entry to the Boutique Corso Umberto in Molfetta, stealing merchandise valued at about €50,000. Police investigations are underway.
The following morning, Mayor Manuel Minervini visited the shop, thanked owner Michele Duino for his resilience, and pledged to increase police patrols and dialogue with local merchants. Duino said the mayor urged residents to “believe in the institutions” and promised continued efforts to improve safety in the town centre.
The mayor’s visit aims to reassure the business community and explore concrete measures to strengthen security on Corso Umberto after the high‑profile theft.
