Molise health system shows improvement as Snami reports progress

The National Autonomous Doctors' Union (Snami) says the public health system in Italy’s Molise region is emerging from a long period of difficulty. Recent data show that 88.8% of first‑visit appointments and 88.6% of diagnostic services were delivered within the legally required time limits, and home‑care coverage is now complete across the region. Snami also notes widespread use of the electronic health record and the upcoming completion of its new architecture, which should further integrate professionals.

Federico Di Renzo, Snami’s regional president, highlighted the signing of a new 2026 regional agreement that reorganises primary care through functional territorial aggregations, multi‑professional teams and Community Houses, involving doctors, nurses, specialists, psychologists and social workers. The agreement is described as one of the most advanced models in Italy.

In the neighboring Piedmont province, regional assessor Riboldi affirmed that the health network is solid, citing “a territorial network, community houses, community hospitals and a territorial operational centre,” and confirmed that the Piedimulera project will move forward as planned.
