MoMo Fintech Lab launches to scale Ghanaian fintech innovation

Mobile Money Fintech LTD (MMFL) has launched the MoMo Fintech Lab, a nationwide innovation programme designed to identify and scale the next generation of fintech solutions in Ghana. Launched in partnership with the Bank of Ghana, the initiative aims to strengthen the country’s digital financial services ecosystem by bridging the gap between conceptual ideas and commercially viable products.

Hubtel has joined the initiative as the Official Technology Partner. The programme will provide participants with a structured journey including boot camps, hackathons, mentorship, and incubation. The implementation will span three zones—Accra, Kumasi, and Tamale—to ensure opportunities reach innovators beyond the capital city.

The programme concludes with a National Demo Day, where finalists will pitch to investors, regulators, and corporate partners. Applications for the lab are open to students, developers, and entrepreneurs, with a deadline of September 30, 2026.
