Monaco holds funeral for Antoine de Massy
A private funeral service was held on Wednesday at the Notre-Dame-Immaculée Cathedral in Monaco for 29-year-old Antoine de Massy. The deceased, a tennis player and second cousin to Prince Albert II, was found lifeless on October 25 in a landscaped area near Larvotto Boulevard.
Among the mourners were Prince Albert II, Princess Charlene, Princess Caroline of Hannover, and Princess Stéphanie. Alexandre Grimaldi, the 23-year-old son of Prince Albert II, served as one of the pallbearers and delivered a eulogy in both English and French. In his speech, Grimaldi described de Massy as his “big brother” and shared memories of their time together, including vacations in the Caribbean.
The family had previously reported de Massy missing after he failed to attend a scheduled lunch. Reports indicate that a man was detained on October 26 as part of an investigation into the matter.
