Monaco authorities charge man after death of Prince Albert II relative

A 42-year-old Ukrainian national residing in Monaco has been charged with involuntary manslaughter and failure to assist a person in danger following the death of Antoine de Massy. De Massy, a 29-year-old relative of Prince Albert II, was found dead on October 25 in a park near Boulevard du Larvotto.

Investigators believe de Massy died after falling approximately 13 meters from an elevated section of the boulevard into a garden area. CCTV footage reportedly showed the suspect accompanying de Massy after he left a nightclub in the early hours of the morning. While the suspect has denied the charges, he has been remanded in custody as a judicial inquiry continues to determine the exact circumstances of the fall.

The Prince and Princess Charlene expressed their sadness regarding the loss of de Massy, who was the grandson of Princess Antoinette. The investigation remains ongoing to clarify whether the incident was an accident or if the suspect's actions contributed to the fatality.
