Monaco launches free mobile protection against nuisance calls

The Government of Monaco and Monaco Telecom have launched a joint initiative to protect residents from the increasing frequency of automated telemarketing, nuisance calls, and phone scams. These unwanted communications often originate from France or other international locations.

To combat this, authorities are recommending two free French-developed applications, Saracroche and Blocall, which are available on both iOS and Android. These tools use a collaborative reporting model to identify and block numbers flagged as spam or fraudulent by the community. In addition to voice calls, the applications include features to detect fraudulent SMS messages while maintaining user privacy and data protection standards.

For residents requiring technical assistance, the Maison du Numérique is offering support through dedicated workshops and one-on-one guidance. The center provides help with application installation and configuration, alongside broader advice on digital security and identifying online scams.
