Monaco tops 2026 Nomad Lifestyle Index ranking

Monaco has been ranked as the best country to live in for 2026 according to the Nomad Lifestyle Index. The study, conducted by advisory firm Nomad Capitalist, evaluated 63 countries and territories based on five key criteria: nature and climate, taxation, residency and access, safety and freedom, and quality of life and infrastructure.

Monaco secured the top position with 73.89 points out of 100, distinguishing itself as the only nation to receive a perfect score in the quality of life and infrastructure category. The competition for the top spot was highly contested, with only a 0.74-point difference separating the first three ranked destinations: Monaco, Andorra, and the United Arab Emirates.

Andorra followed in second place with 73.68 points. The index assessed various factors including air quality, life expectancy, cost of living, internet speed, and the ease of obtaining citizenship.
