Oreo launches limited-edition BTS-themed cookies in over 80 countries

Mondelez International announced a global partnership with South Korean boy band BTS to release a limited‑edition Oreo line. The cookies feature purple wafers – a nod to BTS’s signature colour – and a cream filling formulated to taste like hotteok, a brown‑sugar Korean street‑food pancake. Seven band members and a fan light‑stick are depicted in 13 distinct embossments on the wafers, celebrating the group’s 13th anniversary.

The product will be available online from June 1 and in retail stores from June 8, with distribution planned for more than 80 markets worldwide, including the United States, Brazil, Canada and South Korea. Oreo describes the collaboration as its largest partnership to date and highlights the growing consumer appetite for authentic global flavours driven by social media and specialty retail.

BTS described the tie‑up as “a huge honour” and said the cookies let them “share a taste of home with the world.” Mondelez said the limited‑time launch aims to balance cultural authenticity with broad appeal, targeting both longtime Oreo fans and the K‑pop fanbase.
