Monex Securities to accept advance Kodomo NISA applications
Monex Securities has announced that it will begin accepting advance applications for the ‘Kodomo NISA’ account starting October 1, 2026. This initiative prepares for the official launch of the new tax-exempt investment system for minors, scheduled for January 2027.
The Kodomo NISA system is designed for children aged 0 to 17, allowing for tax-free investment of up to 600,000 yen annually, with a total lifetime limit of 6 million yen. The program aims to support long-term asset formation and financial education, with provisions allowing for withdrawals from age 12 under certain conditions to assist with educational expenses.
Monex Securities will offer investment trust accumulation starting from 100 yen and will provide zero transaction fees, consistent with current NISA regulations. To facilitate the process, parents must hold a Monex securities account to open a minor account for their children. The company also plans to integrate Kodomo NISA into its d-point referral program, offering rewards for successful family and friend introductions.
