Monika Piątkowska targets Kraków mayoral office

Senator Monika Piątkowska has signaled her ambitions to run for the office of Mayor of Kraków. During a panel at the Women's Congress titled ‘Politics, Leadership, Feminism’, Piątkowska emphasized that effectiveness in leadership is not gender-dependent and argued for equal participation of both genders in decision-making processes.

Piątkowska's candidacy has received support from various political figures, including MEP Kamila Gasiuk-Pihowicz and Secretary of State Katarzyna Lubnauer. Supporters highlighted her previous experience in local government and management, suggesting her background in developing development strategies and managing investments would be vital for Kraków's financial health and its ability to secure European Union funds.

In her campaign messaging, Piątkowska has focused on addressing Kraków's municipal debt, the lack of long-term strategic planning, and the economic uncertainty facing young workers, particularly women.
