Takafumi Noma announces Dawngazer action RPG and Ignisphere IP

Takafumi Noma, the director behind the acclaimed title Unicorn Overlord, has announced a new fantasy intellectual property (IP) called ‘Ignisphere’. The project marks a shift in genre for Noma, moving from tactical RPGs to action RPGs.

The first game set in this universe is titled ‘Dawngazer’. It is being developed by the newly established Ignisphere Studio under Monochrome Corporation, in collaboration with Good Smile Company, which will serve as the publisher. The game is slated for a 2028 release on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam.

Ignisphere is intended to be a multi-media franchise. Beyond video games, the partnership with Good Smile Company will include merchandising such as figures, and Kadokawa’s Fujimi Fantasia Bunko is working on light novel adaptations. The musical score for Dawngazer will be composed by Yoshimi Kudo, known for work on Elden Ring and Unicorn Overlord.
