Monongahela River boating accident leaves four dead
Community fundraising efforts have been launched to support families following a catastrophic boating accident on the Monongahela River near Rices Landing in Greene County, Pennsylvania. The incident occurred around 9 p.m. when a 24-foot recreational passenger boat carrying five people collided with a commercial towboat pushing empty barges, causing the smaller craft to capsize.
The collision resulted in four fatalities: Eric Rockwell, 56, Racquelle Rockwell, 56, Renee Epps, and Brian Selvoski, 57. One survivor, Bob Epps, remains in critical condition at AHN Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Multiple GoFundMe campaigns and local donation points, including the Ellsworth Sportsmen’s Club, have been established to assist the Rockwell and Epps families with medical costs and immediate funeral or living expenses.
