Monpura: Teacher and health worker injured in assault

A teacher and a community health worker were seriously injured following an assault in Monpura, Bhola. The incident occurred on Sunday morning around 6:00 AM near the Fazil Madrasa Jame Mosque after Fajr prayers.

The victims, identified as Fazle Rabbi, an assistant teacher at Monpura Secondary School, and his brother Faisal Hawlader, a community health worker, were reportedly lured from the mosque and attacked. The victims allege that the assault was led by Mizan, a ward organizational secretary for Jamaat-e-Islami, along with several others using sticks and local weapons.

According to reports, the conflict reportedly stemmed from a political disagreement the previous night. While one account suggests an attempt at mediation had occurred, the physical confrontation took place in a secluded area. Both victims sustained head injuries and were transported to Bhola Hospital for advanced treatment.

Local police have conducted a preliminary investigation. The Officer in Charge of Monpura Police Station stated that legal action will be taken upon receipt of a formal written complaint.
