Capcom announces Monster Hunter Wilds for Nintendo Switch 2

Capcom has announced that Monster Hunter Wilds will launch on the Nintendo Switch 2 on December 4, 2026. The announcement was made during a Nintendo Direct presentation.

The Switch 2 version will include all previously released title updates, such as the Grand Hub, the return of monsters like Mizutsune and Lagiacrus, and the Final Fantasy XIV Online collaboration. Key features for this version include support for local wireless co-op play for up to four players, as well as full online cross-play capabilities across different platforms. The game will support handheld, table, and TV modes.

Capcom also revealed that several Resident Evil remake titles—Resident Evil 2, 3, and 4—will arrive on the Nintendo Switch 2 on October 16, 2026. Additionally, the Monster Hunter Wilds expansion, Ascendance, is scheduled for a 2027 release on the platform. Various editions of Monster Hunter Wilds, including Standard, Gold, and physical Deluxe versions, will be available, alongside a special Nintendo Switch 2 console bundle in Japan.
