Monte Fumaiolo to host hike for 800th anniversary of Saint Francis

To commemorate the 800th anniversary of the death of Saint Francis of Assisi, the Destination Management Company ‘I Percorsi del Savio’ is organizing an immersive hike in the Monte Fumaiolo massif on Sunday, October 4.

The 17-kilometer route features a total elevation gain of 740 meters and is expected to take approximately six hours. The path intersects two historical routes dedicated to Saint Francis and Saint Vicinio, winding through beech forests and pastures. Participants will gather at Piazza XVII Luglio in Balze di Verghereto, with the official departure scheduled for 9:00 AM.
