Montefiascone Opens New Community Health Centre and Hospital with €4 Million PNRR Funding
Montefiascone in the Lazio region inaugurated a Casa di Comunità and an Ospedale di Comunità, facilities built with roughly €4 million from the national recovery plan (PNRR) and additional regional funds. The ceremony was attended by Regional President Francesco Rocca, Vice‑President Enrico Panunzi, councilors Daniele Sabatini and Giulio Zelli, and mayor Giulia De Santis.
The new centre aims to strengthen territorial health services by providing integrated, multidisciplinary outpatient clinics, telemedicine, and low‑intensity care close to residents, especially the elderly and chronic‑ill patients. The project follows regional decrees of 2021‑2022 and reflects lessons from the pandemic that highlighted the need for more proximate, preventive health provision.
The facilities are expected to serve Montefiascone and surrounding municipalities, offering coordinated services that bridge primary care and hospitalisation, and marking the start of a new phase for local health assistance.
