Montenegrin institutions secure €485,000 in EU Horizon Europe funding
Three Montenegrin institutions have secured a total of 485,881 euros in funding from the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation program. The funding supports four new projects scheduled for 2026.
The University of Montenegro is participating in two projects: ‘Digital Bridges: Science, Media, Society’ (66,580 euros) and a talent support model via EURAXESS (13,281 euros). The City of Podgorica will engage in a project focused on urban heat resilience, receiving 37,470 euros. The largest single allocation, 368,550 euros, is designated for the University Donja Gorica to support a project involving research university transformation, artificial intelligence, and collaborative partnerships.
The Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation stated that these projects allow Montenegrin organizations to collaborate with European partners and develop new scientific solutions.
