Montenegro and Bosnia's Tuzla Canton Begin Free Primary School Textbook Distribution
The government of Montenegro has allocated more than €3 million to print and supply free textbooks for all primary‑school pupils for the 2026/2027 school year. Distribution will start on 10 August in three weekly cycles covering grades 1‑3, 4‑6 and 7‑9, with additional deliveries for late entrants planned for September‑October. Secondary‑school textbooks will be distributed through the private book‑store network later in August, priced between €118.10 and €146.90 depending on grade and foreign‑language option.
In the Tuzla Canton of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the cantonal government has completed a public procurement process to provide free textbooks to more than 33 000 primary‑school students for the fifth consecutive year. Minister of Education and Science Ahmed Omerović said the initiative ensures equal educational opportunities and eases family budgets, and the distribution to schools is now under way.
Both regions aim to guarantee that every child begins the new school year with the required learning materials at no cost to families.
