Montenegro and Croatia address bilateral tensions and internal political shifts

In Montenegro, Minister of Urbanism Slaven Radunović criticized Croatia’s approach to bilateral issues, suggesting the neighboring country is attempting to exert pressure on Montenegro. Radunović expressed disagreement with government conclusions regarding a beach in Baošići, noting that construction permits must be handled according to the law to avoid potential multi-million euro compensation claims from investors. He also announced that residential construction at Velje brdo is scheduled to begin in December, with first move-ins expected by the end of next year.

In Croatia, Vice Prime Minister Branko Bačić addressed a request from the Homeland Movement (DP) to dismiss State Secretary Tomislav Bilandžić of the Ministry of the Interior. The request follows Bilandžić’s public support for police officers involved in a controversy in Split. Bačić emphasized the need for caution regarding such dismissals and stated that the matter would be discussed at the next parliamentary majority meeting. Minister Božinović also defended Bilandžić, stating that supporting lawful police work is expected of officials.
