Montenegro and France discuss EU integration and bilateral cooperation

Montenegrin Deputy Prime Minister for Foreign and European Affairs, Filip Ivanović, met with the French Ambassador to Montenegro, Cécile Humber-Buvier, to discuss strengthening bilateral relations and European integration.

The discussions focused on the final stages of Montenegro’s accession negotiations with the European Union. Both parties expressed satisfaction with recent high-level political contacts, including visits by French President Emmanuel Macron to Montenegro and Montenegrin Prime Minister Milojko Spajić to Paris.

Key areas of cooperation highlighted include healthcare and defense. Specific projects mentioned include the construction of a University Clinic in Podgorica and the procurement of two patrol boats from the company Kerchib. Ivanović emphasized the importance of French support for Montenegro’s reform processes and its path toward EU membership.
