Montenegro and Germany strengthen police cooperation and digitalization

Lazar Šćepanović, Director of the Police Administration of Montenegro, conducted a two-day official visit to Germany at the invitation of Dr. Dieter Romann, President of the Federal Police Presidium. During talks in Potsdam, the two parties discussed intensifying strategic and operational cooperation to combat organized cross-border crime and illegal migration.

Germany expressed its commitment to supporting Montenegro in strengthening police capacities, adopting European standards, and modernizing its services to assist in Montenegro's European integration process. A major outcome of the visit was the signing of a Joint Declaration of Intent to implement the ‘@rtus’ police case management system in Montenegro. This digital transformation initiative, referred to as ‘@rtus-Montenegro’, aims to enhance the information and analytical capacities of the Montenegrin Police Administration.
