Montenegro and Serbia police crackdown on dangerous drivers with drones and speed checks

In Montenegro, police units from Podgorica and Danilovgrad carried out a digital patrol using drones to monitor high‑risk road sections (Podgorica‑Zeta, Podgorica‑Cetinje, Danilovgrad‑Nikšić). The operation stopped 21 drivers, issuing 14 traffic tickets and filing seven summons for serious violations such as risky overtaking.

In Serbia, traffic police interceptors halted three reckless drivers within 24 hours: a 46‑year‑old Serbian who drove 244 km/h, a 27‑year‑old Turkish national who reached 239 km/h, and a 35‑year‑old Serbian who was drunk and drove 207 km/h. Police also cited 11 additional drivers for other serious offenses and warned that speed violations remain the leading cause of severe accidents, pledging continued intensified controls.
