Montenegrin authorities have arrested two Russian citizens, Aleksandar Mihailović Krugljanski and Aleksandra Krugljanska, after discovering a large cache of electronic equipment and significant sums of cash.

The pair was apprehended at Tivat Airport while attempting to board a flight to Tel Aviv with 19 suitcases. Initial inspections of their luggage revealed 26,210 euros, 1,150 Israeli shekels, and various electronic items, including a GPS tracker with a microphone and a professional radio signal detector (BugHunter Professional BH-04).

Following the arrests, police conducted searches of properties in Budva and Bar used by the suspects. These searches reportedly uncovered approximately one million euros in cash and additional IT equipment, including surveillance cameras and video monitoring systems. Authorities suspect the equipment may have been intended for surveillance, espionage, or detecting listening devices.

The suspects, who hold both Russian and Israeli passports and had previously visited Montenegro on tourist visas, are being investigated for suspected smuggling and money laundering. The operation is being conducted in coordination with the Montenegrin National Security Agency (ANB) and international intelligence partners to determine the purpose and origin of the funds and equipment.
