Food safety alerts issued across Montenegro, Slovakia, Croatia, and Poland

Multiple food safety alerts have been issued across several countries regarding contaminated products.

In Montenegro, the Phytosanitary Inspection reported that over 82,000 kilograms of imported products were prevented from entering the market during September. These items were either returned to senders or destroyed due to non-compliance, including issues with pesticides and aflatoxins exceeding permitted limits.

In Slovakia, Lidl has recalled ‘Hovädzí tatarák Premium’ (250g) due to the potential presence of Listeria monocytogenes. The manufacturer, MASO UZENINY POLIČKA, noted the affected batch had an expiry date of October 1, 2026.

In Croatia, the Studenac retail chain is withdrawing several batches of ‘Dalmatinska panceta’ produced by Mijukić-prom due to Listeria contamination. Consumers are advised not to consume the product and to return it to stores for a refund.

In Poland, the Main Sanitary Inspectorate (GIS) issued a warning regarding regional raw milk cheeses produced by Mlecz Ser Górskie Sp. z o. o. All products from batch 261.2026/M, including various types of ‘Gałka’ and ‘Korbacz’ cheeses, are being withdrawn from the market following the detection of Listeria monocytogenes.
