Montenegro caps retail pellet prices to ensure winter supply
The Government of Montenegro has approved a decision to cap the retail prices of first and second-class pellets. This measure was initiated at the request of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management to ensure citizens have more affordable and stable access to heating fuel ahead of the upcoming winter season.
Under the new regulations, the maximum retail price for A2 class pellets is set at 250 euros per ton, while A1 class pellets are capped at 270 euros per ton. These prices include Value Added Tax (VAT). The Ministry stated that the decision aims to protect consumers and maintain market stability while also considering the interests of domestic producers.
The price limits will take effect the day after the decision is published in the Official Gazette of Montenegro and will remain in place until June 30, 2027.
