Montenegro completes sixth generation of Transitional Justice School

The Center for Civic Education (CGO) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Montenegro have concluded the sixth generation of the Transitional Justice School in Podgorica. The program is part of a regional project aimed at supporting EU construction of trust in the Western Balkans.

The curriculum consisted of three modules that combined theoretical learning with visits to sites of memory and suffering from the 1990s wars. Participants also engaged in discussions with human rights institutions to understand the role of transitional justice in building a society that respects the dignity of all victims.

During the final module, participants met with Mensura Bošnjak, Deputy Ombudsman for Human Rights and Freedoms of Montenegro. Bošnjak emphasized that confronting the past and establishing the truth are essential prerequisites for strengthening the rule of law and preventing the repetition of crimes.
