Montenegro Customs Administration celebrates modernization and digitalization

The Customs Administration of Montenegro celebrated Customs Service Day by reviewing recent achievements and honoring officials for their contributions to institutional modernization.

Jelena Đukić, the head of the Customs Administration, emphasized that the institution is undergoing significant transformations. She noted that accelerated digitalization and the implementation of modern information systems are essential for increasing efficiency, protecting borders, and facilitating foreign trade exchange. While digitalization provides powerful tools, Đukić highlighted that the professionalism and integrity of customs officers remain vital for making key decisions and preventing fraud.

Awards were presented to several outstanding individuals across various departments for their roles in implementing new projects and setting standards necessary for Montenegro’s integration into the European Union. The administration reaffirmed its commitment to building a modern, transparent, and efficient service in alignment with European standards.
