Montenegro Deputy PM discusses EU accession with European policy institutes
Filip Ivanović, Montenegro’s Deputy Prime Minister for Foreign and European Affairs, met with representatives from three prominent European policy research organizations: the German Council on Foreign Relations, the Clingendael Institute, and Carnegie Europe.
The discussions focused on Montenegro’s progress toward European Union membership, the current dynamics of the negotiation process, and the essential reforms required to complete the accession. Ivanović emphasized that EU membership remains a strategic priority for Montenegro, highlighting the need for continued reforms in the rule of law, institutional strengthening, and alignment with the EU legal framework.
The visiting organizations aim to assess the country’s readiness for these remaining reforms and contribute to the European integration process through dialogue with key decision-makers.
