Montenegro enhances international and diaspora ties through cultural and parliamentary initiatives
Montenegrin state institutions are engaging in cultural and parliamentary diplomacy to strengthen international ties and community connections.
The State Archives of Montenegro recently presented an exhibition titled ‘Consular Representations of Montenegro 1880–1914’ across several locations in Serbia, including Panonija, Vrbas, and Kula. The initiative aims to preserve Montenegrin cultural heritage and maintain strong links with the Montenegrin diaspora in Vojvodina.
Simultaneously, the Parliament of Montenegro is expanding its international cooperation through programs such as ‘From Westminster to Podgorica.’ Organized in collaboration with the UK Parliament's professional service, the event provided lectures to Montenegrin university students on the role and function of the Westminster parliamentary model. Boban Stanišić, Secretary General of the Parliament of Montenegro, emphasized that such partnerships reinforce the institution's position on the international parliamentary stage and highlight the importance of professional administrative services in maintaining institutional continuity.
