Montenegro launches ‘Iskra’ scholarship for top students abroad

Montenegrin President Jakov Milatović has announced a public call for the ‘Iskra’ presidential scholarship for the 2026/27 academic year. The program is designed to support Montenegro’s top students who are studying at prestigious universities abroad.

To mark the 20th anniversary of Montenegro’s independence, the scholarship fund has been increased to 100,000 euros with support from the company MTEL. This funding will allow 20 exceptional students to receive the award, doubling the previous number of recipients. Each scholar will receive 5,000 euros, distributed in ten equal monthly installments.

Eligible applicants must be studying at prestigious international universities and meet specific criteria outlined in the official public call. The deadline for applications is 15 days from the date of the call's publication on the President of Montenegro’s website.
